Filefish
Wireshark is a networking packet capture and analyzer tool. One of my favorite features is its packet dissector: it can recursively analyze parts of a packet and explain what the individual bytes represent. I had always wanted to have a similar tool for analyzing binary files, so I wrote it. I’ve named it Filefish. It can process most image, audio, video, archive, and executable files.
